Port Charlotte

Port Charlotte is the best-preserved and most attractive village on Islay, and was founded by Walter Frederick Campbell in 1828. The village was setup to provide housing facilities for the distillery folk who worked in the Lochindaal Distillery which opened in 1829, also known as Port Charlotte and Rhinns Distillery.
